Fire Safety Talk in P5

8th Oct 2018

Primary 5 enjoyed a visit from Paul Truesdale, a fire officer from Newcastle Fire Station. Paul spoke to the children about fire safety and the importance of having a smoke alarm in their houses. He explained to the children how dangerous fireworks can be and how they must always get an adult to supervise the lighting of fireworks. Fire Officer Truesdale told everyone to have a great Hallowe'en and to stay safe.

The children got to try on a fireman's helmet and coat. Everyone enjoyed trying on the helmet and coat, it was so much fun and there was lots of laughter in the classroom. Each child received a Fire Safety Pack and we have been very busy in class completing the activities and learning important facts about fire safety.

Fire Officer Truesdale told the children to remind an adult at home to check the smoke alarm every Monday.
