Sports Day 20th June

6th Jun 2016

Sports Day will take place on Monday 20th June at 10:00am at  Bryansford GAC pitches.  As this is a departure from our normal Sports Day there will inevitably be changes to events and routines so I would ask you to follow the guidelines below.

If the weather prevents us from having Sports Day on Monday 20th we will attempt to hold it on the next dry day that also suits Bryansford club.

As we are away from school premises this year, if at all possible, it would be helpful if all pupils had a responsible adult attend Sports Day.

We are very grateful to Bryansford Club for letting us use their grounds and I would ask that you respect their facilities and ensure that all children remain within the confines of the pitch and also to make use of the bins provided or take rubbish home.

Parking is available in the club grounds.  Please park appropriately and follow the instructions of the parking Stewarts.  If the main car park is full please find a safe place to park outside the club grounds.

I would ask that pupils do not bring footballs or dogs to the sports ground. We have previously had incidents of younger pupils being hit with footballs and not all young children are dog lovers.

  • Sports Day will begin at 10:00am or as close to 10:00am as possible.
  • If you are attending Sports Day please bring your child with you for 10:00am
  • If you are not attending Sports Day please arrange to have your child dropped off at Bryansford GAC Playing fields between 9:30 and 10:00am. Staff will not be available to supervise children before this time.
  • If you are not attending Sports Day please arrange for your child to be picked up at the playing fields at 12:30 noon (Reception) 2:00pm (P1- P3) or 3:00pm (P4 – P7)
  • Translink service will be available at 2pm and 3pm as usual on Sports Day with pickup starting at Bryansford GAC.
  • The Parent Support Group will be providing Barbecue and refreshments. All proceeds towards the Big Build Fund.
  • There will be no school meals available so ALL pupils should bring a packed lunch or avail of the Barbecue facilities.
  • Please ensure your child has a bottle of water and a snack for break time.
  • Please ensure your child has sun cream applied and/or a sun hat as we will be outside for extended periods.

With good weather and everyone’s support we will endeavour to make this an enjoyable day for the pupils.
