Assembly 26.02.25

26th Feb 2025

We had lots to celebrate this week, our firm since half term!!

To start us off, Maria Barr, Cullen Valentine and Cillian Passmore were at a swimming competition in Lisburn, in recent weeks. They came home with lots of silverware, Cillian even came out as overall boy under 10. A super achievement, and they will be representing our school later this week.

On Tuesday, the boys Gaelic team took part in an indoor Gaelic tournament at St. Malachy’s in Castlewellan. They won or drew all their games and will be moving forward to the regional finals. This is a first for Carnaaville in many years and we are very, very proud of them.

Before mid term, Oisin, Darragh, Jack and Rhys from P7 took part in an under 12 table tennis competition in Banbridge. They represented the school brilliantly and really showed off their talents.

In P6 and P7, Aralynn, Maria, Ryan, Amelia and Darcy all got certificates of achievement for an ‘Environmental Speak’ competition, raising awareness on Environmental issues. Aralynn was awarded the opportunity to represent the school with her speech, and you can see a video of her speech on the school website.

Willow Rooney made a dragon puppet at home and brought it into assembly to show off her creativity. Willow is known for her creative side, regularly making crochet pieces for her friends and teachers. We love to see your artistic talent flair. Well done, Willow.

Darcy Kempster was awarded the ‘Kindness Award’ for showing kindness to everyone in her class, standing up for others, being friendly to all staff, and showing kindness and respect in all she does. What a lovely compliment, and fantastic quality to have Darcy. Well done!

As always, we celebrated all our pupils and stars of the week. Well done to you all, for your hard work and manners.

Lastly, we celebrated the end of the February birthdays. We hope you all had an enjoyable day!
