Ryan Thornton (Primary 6) and Paddy Sherrard (Primary 7) had a big day last Saturday as they competed with top international athletes in the International Athletics Meeting at Mary Peters’ Running Track in Belfast. Both Ryan and Paddy are part of our School Cross Country team which trained so hard and did so well in the final of the Northern Ireland Cross Country Championships. As a result of Paddy’s and Ryan’s performance in the final race they were selected to join a twelve month training program with the Northern Ireland Athletics Development Squad. On Saturday they ran in the 1000m race and each boy clocked a fantastic time of just over three minutes twenty seconds. These are two Athletic stars of the future. Well done boys.
