Reception children have been learning about the life cycle of frogs and butterflies. A big thank you to Sofia Grue for showing us some tadpoles that she was carefully looking after. We also got to watch real caterpillars change into butterflies in our very own classroom butterfly garden. Everyone worked hard at our arts and craft activities, illustrating the stages in the growth of frogs and butterflies. When our beautiful ‘Painted Ladies’ finally emerged from their chrysalises, we told the story of their development to P.5 children. Then, on a lovely sunny morning in June, P.5 accompanied us on a walk down the lane opposite St. Joseph’s to release the butterflies.
