National Cross Country Success
During Term One a team of P6 and P7 pupils competed in heats of the Northern Ireland Cross Country Races in Donard Park and Dundonald. From this team two boys, Quinn Devlin (P7) and Aaron O'Boyle (P6) qualified in 2nd and 3rd place which gave them entry to the Northern Ireland Primary School Cross Country Final at Mallusk Playing Fields on Wednesday 22nd January.
In a field of 208 of the top primary school age athletes, the boys finished 13th and 43rd respectively. This was a tremendous achievement.
Quinn has now been invited to join the Athletics N.I. Junior Endurance Squad where he will be coached by Athletics N.I.
Aaron's magnificent performance is all the more impressive considering he is a primary 6 pupil and he will be able to compete again next year.
A big Thankyou to Mr Knight, who gave up his break times to train and guide the cross country squad.
