22 P6 and P7 pupils met with Sacred Heart PS Dundrum today for the first Junior NBA Legacy tournament. Each team was a mix of pupils from both schools. There was a super standard of skills on show from all the pupils with some equally super baskets. All the children played with great team spirit and only 2 points separated the top 4 teams with the Chicago Bulls coming out Winners.
Ruadhan Small (Carnacaville) and Charlie (Sacred Heart) were awarded the Most Valuable Players (MVP).
Freya Brown (Carnacaville) and Niamh (Sacred Heart) were awarded for Most Valuable Effort (MVE)
A Shimna College First Year Select team were kind enough to agree to play a Carnacaville Team at the end of the event. This was a great opportunity to test ourselves against very different opposition. The game was played at a fast tempo under full competition rules. The Carnacaville players showed that all their practice after school on Friday was well worth it as they emerged winners.
