P5 enjoyed a visit from the NI Fire and Rescue Service. Fireman, Darren McAllister, spoke to the P5s about fire safety at home. He introduced the children to 'Beep' the smoke alarm. He told them about the importance of having a working smoke alarm in their homes.
He explained how to check your smoke alarm to see if it's working. He advised the children to ask an adult to check the alarm each Monday.
Each child received a home fire safety pack full of information to help them understand the importance of fire safety. The children are now busy completing their fire safety packs in class.
