Our Winter Walk

29th Jan 2016

We are currently learning about Winter so we wrapped up warm and went outside to investigate. We were looking for signs of winter; we saw a robin, frost and bare trees! The little robin reminded us that we must remember to feed the birds during Winter. The grass felt soft on our feet, it was wet because of the rain. It rains a lot in Winter! We noticed that there were no cows in the field, we think that the farmer has put them into the shed as it's too cold outside! It was cold for us too so we huddled together to keep warm - penguins do that too. When we came back to the room, we took off our hats, scarves and gloves but it was still cold. So we had a drink of hot chocolate to warm us up! When our hands and fingers were warm again, we filled out our Winter checklist.

We are learning some rhymes and songs about Winter and presented them at assembly. 'A little white snowman' and the 'Winter Cokey.'
