P3 Trip to Tollymore Forest Park
26th Oct 2016
P3 went to Tollymore Forest to find out about squirrels and to spot signs of seasonal change. Our guides were Petra and Liz. We saw a squirrel's home called a drey, some chewed pine cones, a squirrel feeder, a deer's antler with squirrel teeth marks and lots of other interesting evidence of squirrels. The leaves were changing colour and falling off the trees. We looked at the squirrel display and went on a silent walk pretending to be squirrel detectives in the forest. We listened to the forest sounds and did some forest crafts. Mrs Ward and Mrs McManus helped us with our forest work. Everyone had a lot of fun!
