Pancake Tuesday
8th Mar 2019
Primary 6 had such a great day making pancakes on Tuesday before lent started on Wednesday. We had a receipe which would make around 15 pancakes so we decided to double it so we would have enough pancakes for everyone. This involved incorporating our mental maths skills into our cookery lesson. Our scales were in kilograms but our receipe was in grams so we had to use our converting skills and work out what the lines on the scales represented. We had to do the same when we measured the milk as our measuring jug was in litres but our receipe was in millilitres. Numeracy skills are so important for lots of different jobs, especially a baker.
