Praying the Rosary
Primary 2 led today's assembly and we based our assembly on Mary. During the month of May, we remember Mary in a special way. P2 were involved in making our May altar which we had at assembly today. On our altar, we had a candle to remind us that God is always with us, we had holy water from Our Lady's well in Nazareth, a beautiful bouquet of flowers, a statue of Our Lady and rosary beads.
We prayed one decade of the rosary and after each Hail Mary, we placed a red rose on the altar. One rose represents one Hail Mary and the petals of that rose hold all our special intentions that we have prayed for. At the end of our decade, we had 10 roses with lots and lots of petals holding all our intentions to be handed over to Our Lady.
We sang the song 'When creation was begun...Ave Maria' to begin and to end our lovely prayer service.
P2 each got their own set of rosary beads to use in school and at home so we can pray to our mother, Mary.
