On Thursday 1st February, we celebrated St. Brigid's Day. We heard the story of St. Brigid and we made St. Brigid's Crosses using rushes. We presented our crosses at assembly and then we each took a cross home and we kept one in the classroom. We hung them up in school and at home as a protection against fire and theft, sickness and disease, and as a blessing on all who enter and leave these places.
