St. Joseph's Celebrate Tennis Success
Last week, four talented tennis players from our school participated in, and won, the annual NASWUT Primary Schools Tennis Competition. The four victorious students were: Lola Graham (P7), Matthew Rafferty (P7), Cian Jackson (P6) and Oisin O’Hare (P5)
Four primary schools in the local area participated in this annual competition. Our four students played a fantastic first round, winning comfortably in singles and doubles matches. The team were delighted to reach the finals against a strong side from All Children’s Integrated Primary.
First up, were the doubles teams, Cian & Matthew and Lola & Oisin. They astonished the crowd with their forehand winners and their intensity on the court. The team won both matches 2-0. Next up, were the singles matches. Matthew and Lola played some extremely tight games but still managed to prevail to make it 4-0 to St Joseph’s. Lastly, Cian & Oisin sealed the win to make it an extraordinary 6-0 victory.
A huge congratulations to all four members. Your attitude, teamwork and dedication on the day were superb.
