The first Student Council meeting of 2017 took place last Tuesday. Mr McCann presented the pupils with their badges and roles and responsibilities were decided. They are as follows:
President – Miss Griffin
Vice President – Mr McCann
Secretary – Cara McGuirk (P5)
Treasurer – Alannah Beeks (P6)
PR Director – George Thompson (P6)
Class Representatives:
Patrick Flanigan and Niamh Lowry (P4)
Oisin Murray (P5)
Elllen Hillen and Shea McGuirk (P7)
It was then discussed where we could move forward from here. Shea proposed that we place a 'thoughts and ideas' box in the school foyer for all pupils within the school to post their thoughts on school life and ideas for school life at various posting times throughout the day. We thought this was a super idea and from this Shea and George spoke to all pupils at Assembly on Friday to explain about our new Ideas Box.
Pupils will have one week to post their thoughts and ideas and the Student Council will open the box and read these at the next meeting. It will then be decided what thoughts and ideas we can act upon.
