Well done to all of the children in the Carnacaville Cross Country Team
Our School Cross CountryTeam have been in training since early November. Each child giving up their breaktime twice per week to train around our school grounds as Mr Knight blew the whistle and shouted out directions. Despite the cold weather just before Christmas we had our first competitive races in a wet Delamont Park in Killyleagh. Then this week when all of the rest of our children had a day off, the team were up early to make their way to Newtownards in North Down for our second series of races. A big thanks to all of the parents who helped out with lifts to Killyleagh and Newtownards. Our girls team finished 16th and our boys finished 6th. We had some fantastic individual runs from all of the children. A big call out to Ryan Thornton who was 2nd in a field of 120 boys. This is a name to watch out for in the future.
Congratulations to the whole team who have trained so hard and competed with great effort. You can all be very proud of the progress you have made.
