St Josephs Primary School Carnacavill

2nd Place for Carnacaville Table Tennis Team in Ulster Schools Competition

28th Feb 2024

The 8th February 2024 proved a busy day in Ulster Primary Schools Table Tennis with 172 pupils in 43 teams trying to win one of the six events contested in Banbridge Leisure Centre.
For the first time ever, Carnacaville entered a team into the Ulster Primary School Table Tennis Championship.  The award for the winning team was an Ulster title and a place in the All Ireland Primary School Finals in Dublin.

Our Team of Reece Maguire, Oisin O'Hare, Darragh Scannell and Jack Martin all primary 6 pupils competed in the boys U12 competition and played their way into the final where Ballydown Primary School Banbridge, a team St. Joseph's had beaten in the round robin section, just proved a little too good at the end of a long day.

The boys played incredible table tennis and the skills on show were staggering.  Congratulations boys! Second place on the first time of trying is an incredible result,  we are all very proud of you.

Next is the Ulster Primary Schools Individual Championship on Thursday 21st March in Banbridge Leisure Centre.  Good luck in this one boys!!
